Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive in Jammu, Transfer to Katra
Pickup at Jammu airport or Jammu Tawi railway station and drive to Katra (about 1.5–2 hours). Register for the yatra and rest for the climb.

Day 2Mata Vaishno Devi Darshan
Start early for the yatra to the Bhawan (about 13 km each way on foot; ponies, palkis, battery cars on part of the route and helicopter services are available, subject to booking and weather). Return to Katra by evening.

Day 3Jammu to Patnitop
Drive up to Patnitop (about 3–4 hours), a pine-covered hill station on the Jammu–Srinagar route. Afternoon walk to the meadows or Nathatop viewpoint.

Day 4Patnitop to Srinagar
Continue to Srinagar through the Chenani–Nashri and Banihal tunnels (5–6 hours). Arrive in time for an evening Shikara ride.

Day 5Day Trip to Gulmarg
Drive to Gulmarg (about 50 km, 1.5–2 hours) through Tangmarg and pine forest. Ride the Gondola to Kongdoori (Phase 1) and, if the weather allows, on to Apharwat (Phase 2); tickets are bought separately. Walk the meadow to St. Mary's Church and the Maharani Temple before returning to Srinagar.

Day 6Srinagar Sightseeing: Mughal Gardens and Shankaracharya
After breakfast, visit the terraced Mughal gardens: Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and Chashme Shahi, then Pari Mahal above the lake. In the afternoon, drive up to the Shankaracharya temple for views over the city (expect security checks and a climb of a few hundred steps). Evening at leisure or shopping on Polo View or Residency Road.

Day 7Departure from Srinagar
After breakfast, transfer to Srinagar airport or railway station. Leave at least two hours for airport security checks.
