Spring (March to May)

Spring is when Kashmir wakes up: almond and apple blossom, and the Tulip Garden in Srinagar from late March into April. Days are mild and nights cold, so pack layers. It's one of the best times for a first visit and for couples.

Summer (June to August)

The valleys are at their greenest and every road is normally open, including Sonamarg, Gurez and the route to Ladakh. It's ideal for families, treks and rafting. July is busy with the Amarnath Yatra, which can mean convoys and slower roads around Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

Autumn (September to November)

Our favourite season: clear skies, golden chinar trees, apple orchards and saffron flowers near Pampore. Crowds thin out, and hotel prices start to drop in November.

Winter (December to February)

Snow transforms Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. This is the season for skiing, snow play and the Gondola over white slopes. Roads can close after heavy snowfall, so leave a buffer day. See our Kashmir winter tour package.
