Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1Arrive in Srinagar, Shikara Ride on Dal Lake
Our driver meets you at Srinagar airport or railway station and takes you to your hotel or houseboat. After you settle in, take a one-hour Shikara ride on Dal Lake past the floating gardens, Char Chinar and the lake's handicraft boats, ideally at sunset. Evening free.

Day 2Srinagar Sightseeing: Mughal Gardens and Shankaracharya
After breakfast, visit the terraced Mughal gardens: Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and Chashme Shahi, then Pari Mahal above the lake. In the afternoon, drive up to the Shankaracharya temple for views over the city (expect security checks and a climb of a few hundred steps). Evening at leisure or shopping on Polo View or Residency Road.

Day 3Srinagar to Gulmarg, Gondola Ride
Check out and drive to Gulmarg (1.5–2 hours). After check-in, take the Gondola to Kongdoori and on to Apharwat if it's open. In the evening the day visitors leave, and the meadow becomes quiet: this is the reason to stay overnight.

Day 4Gulmarg to Pahalgam via Pampore
Drive to Pahalgam (about 4–4.5 hours). On the way, stop at the saffron fields of Pampore, the ruins of Awantipora and the cricket-bat workshops at Sangam. Arrive in the Lidder valley by afternoon and walk along the river in the evening.

Day 5Pahalgam: Betaab Valley, Aru and Chandanwari
Today you visit Pahalgam's side valleys in a local union taxi (private cabs aren't allowed in, and fares are paid locally): Betaab Valley's meadows and stream, the village of Aru, and Chandanwari, where snow often lingers into summer. Back at the hotel by evening.

Day 6Pahalgam at Leisure: River, Meadows and Rafting
A slower day. Take an early walk by the river, try rafting on the Lidder (usually May to September), or ride a pony up to Baisaran. Families often prefer this rest day after a day of union-taxi sightseeing.

Day 7Pahalgam to Srinagar, Departure
After breakfast, drive back to Srinagar (2.5–3 hours) straight to the airport or railway station for your onward journey. Book flights after 2 pm to allow for traffic and airport security.
